2.5.1.6.2. Addition of a concentrate of the cooling means (Mercedes-Benz)

GENERAL INFORMATION

Prevention

As some details of the cooling system are made of aluminum, it is necessary to apply to these purposes only the antifrizno-rust-preventing agent suitable and allowed for use by Mercedes-Benz.


Example: measurement of protection of the 4-cylinder engine against freezing (without conditioner) by means of the areometer guarantees this protection up to the temperature of -20 °C. In this case merge 1,3 l of cooling liquid from the cooling system and then add 1,3 l of a pure concentrate of antifreeze. Thanks to it protection of the engine against freezing up to the temperature of -37 °C is guaranteed. If it is necessary to guarantee protection of the engine against freezing to –45 °C, replace 1,7 l of liquid.

Prevention

The values specified in the table are valid for temperature of cooling liquid about +20 °C.


Close a locking cover on a radiator and after a trial trip check antifrizny protection again.
