10.2.4. Half shafts



The inhaling of a nut of a half shaft requires a wrench with the moment regulated at least to 220 N. by m.


1. Unscrew a nut of fastening of a half shaft by means of a dodecahedral face key of SW 30.


At the same time, in order to avoid accident, the car has to stand on wheels, transfer has to be included, and the parking brake is tightened.

2. Designate paint the provision of wheels in relation to a nave. Thanks to it after removal it will be possible to return the balanced wheel into place. Release bolts of wheels when the car costs on the earth, then put it behind on supports and remove back wheels.
3. Unscrew a half shaft (37) from a connecting flange (33). For this purpose unscrew bolts with an internal polyhedron (35) (SW 10 key, for example HAZET 2751 or 990 SLg 10) and remove them together with lock washers (34).


You monitor the correct landing of a key in heads of bolts. It is desirable to clear previously internal polyhedrons in heads of bolts.

4. Put a garage jack under the suspension bracket lever, raise the lever that the half shaft became approximately horizontally. Do not forget wooden laying between the lever and a jack.


At rise you watch to raising the car from supports.

5. Put forward a half shaft, then reject obliquely down.


You watch that at removal of a half shaft the shaft cover did not unscrew.

6. Take a half shaft from a nave. If she sits strongly, use the ordinary suitable device for its expression from a flange.
7. Get a half shaft, check rubber cuffs and a cover for tightness and damages, if necessary repair.


1. Clear a surface between a flange and a cover of a half shaft.
2. Insert a shaft into a nave.
3. Attach a shaft to a connecting flange.
4. Put new washers and new bolts with an internal polyhedron.

Previously slightly grease a carving and a surface of a prileganiye of bolts. Measure diameter of a carving as the inhaling moment depends on it.

5. Tighten bolts with a diameter of 10 mm with m 70 N.' moment in a crosswise order, and bolts with a diameter of 12 mm with m 100 N.' moment.
6. Lower and remove a garage jack.
7. Put back wheels so that the mark paint on a wheel and a nave coincided. Screw wheels. Lower the car and tighten bolts of wheels with m 110 N.' moment.
8. Screw a new dodecahedral nut of fastening of a half shaft in a nave and tighten with the moment 220 N. of m.

Previously slightly grease a carving and a surface of a prileganiye.

At this operation the car has to stand on wheels. The nut is essentially replaced. At screwing up the parking brake has to be tightened and transfer is included.

9. Fuller a nut of fastening of a half shaft on a fillet (shooter) for what hammer a nut fillet with a punch into a shaft cut.
