8.2.2. Self-diagnosing of a condition of system of ignition and injection of fuel

GENERAL INFORMATION

In the presence of HFM-and PMS control systems it is not required to regulate the frequency of rotation of a shaft of the engine in the mode of idling and the content of carbon monoxide any more. The system itself controls itself and accumulates the revealed malfunctions in memory. The auto repair shop of Mercedes can define malfunctions by means of the reader and purposefully eliminate them. One malfunction not necessarily considerably comes to light because of deterioration in road performance of the car. Therefore it is expedient to visit after passing by the car of a certain distance service auto repair shop.

Contents of memory of malfunctions remain even at shutdown of the rechargeable battery. The malfunctions which are written down in memory automatically are erased in case during about 20 trips following one after another they are not shown any more. The malfunctions which are written down in memory can be manually erased by means of the device of reading of malfunctions.

When carrying out repair work in system of injection of fuel it is necessary to follow rules of maintenance of purity concerning a power supply system and to follow instructions according to safety measures concerning system of ignition.
